Austin completed his undergraduate schooling at Brigham Young University, his Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Auburn University, and his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University with an emphasis in addictions. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and has completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Austin’s clinical experience includes inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment with individuals, couples, and families, as well as in-home family therapy with at-risk children and working with adolescents in the juvenile justice system. He also has experience working with individuals transitioning from prison.
More recently Austin’s clinical focus has centered around developing and facilitating trauma-informed experiential therapeutic intensives for individuals, couples, and families, including personal growth workshops, intensives for healthcare professionals, as well as multifamily group intensives and couples’ retreats for veterans in various cities around the country.
Prior to working at Onsite, Austin was a Senior Clinical Director at Caron Treatment Centers, in Pennsylvania. Austin has been a frequent presenter for various audiences nationally.
